National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to advance the quality and availability of seniors housing and care for America’s elders. In keeping with our mission, vision, and overarching goals, we are seeking to fill the position of Director, Human Resources. The Director, Human Resources is a member of NIC’s Senior Leadership Team. As a strategic business partner, this position aligns organizational goals/objectives with the workforce in its ability to grow and strengthen the business. The role directs the planning, development, implementation, budgeting and management of the human resource strategic areas of business strategy, workforce planning, human capital engagement and retention, and HR infrastructure and compliance.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage HR programs that are strategically aligned with the organization’s goals and needs, fostering a positive and thriving work-place culture
  • Develop, lead and facilitate best practices in workforce planning initiatives that strategically acquire, inspired and retain “best in class” talent
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing risks and ensuring compliance
  • Lead on culture change and drive employee engagement that connects the workforce to the organization’s core values and operating principles  

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises the HR Generalist and outsourced partners

Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university in business administration, human resources or equivalent discipline
  • 10-15 years of experience of progressive responsibility in human resources
  • 7-10 years of leadership experience with ability to motivate and provide professional development to team
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic workforce planning, employee relations, benefits design and administration, compensation planning, recruitment, training/development, compliance
  • SHRM/HRCI designation a plus
  • Experience with Great Place to Work culture a plus
